Yael Stein was born in Australian and lives in New York City since 2013 She played Lorna Morrello in Orange Is the New Black. Yael was awarded her NIDA diploma. Since her early years, Yael has been lucky to have worked with some of the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of the stage and visionaries working behind the scenes of film TV, theatre, and film. Yael is an internationally acclaimed actor in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael decided to make New York City her home in the wake of her role in the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced this critically-acclaimed show. Yael was the co-founder of The Cannery. From the Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages creativity, creative writing and innovative projects, and supports the development of young writers.
